Day 3: Tortuguero canal tour
Here are some photos from our canal tour and trip to the beach!
Animals that we saw: howler monkeys, spider monkeys, jacana birds, caimans, iguanas, and basilisks!

Day 2: Water taxi to Tortuguero
It took 1 hour to get to Hotel Ilan-Ilan by water taxi. Look at all our suitcases piled high in the boat!

Day 1
We have enjoyed our first day in Costa Rica! Our flight got in just after 11. After clearing customs we met Diego our tour director. Because of the cloudy weather, we had to forego the Poas volcano, but just for today. Instead, We opted for a tour of the capital.
The students are enjoying the hotel pool right now :)

1. Diego took us on a walking tour of downtown San Jose. This picture is at the former Military fortress. Costa Rica dissolved its army in 1948 and this bldg is now a museum.
2. How often do you see a street sign pointing to a volcano?!?!
3 & 4. Government authorized graffiti protesting... The government!?
5. La Catedral Metropolitana

We are safe in Atlanta. Everyone is excited and ready to be in sunny, 85 degree Costa Rica!
